From Classroom to Career: My Journey in Industrial Engineering
Hello, I'm Sonu Kumar, a proud graduate of Industrial Engineering and Management from BMS College of Engineering. My academic journey has been a fascinating exploration of Supply Chain, Operations, Inventory, and Logistics, with a touch of Human Resource and Project Management.
Building a Strong Foundation
During my time at BMS College, I developed a solid grounding in the essentials of industrial engineering. My coursework and projects have equipped me with the skills necessary to tackle real-world challenges in supply chain and operations management.
Hands-On Industry Experience
I was fortunate to gain practical experience as a Supply Chain Intern at CIM Tools Private Limited. This role allowed me to dive into end-to-end supply chain operations, where I honed my skills in vendor coordination, procurement tracking, and inventory support.
Academic Projects: Innovating with Technology
One of my most exciting academic projects was developing a Real-Time Web-Enabled Inventory Management System using RFID technology. This project involved:
- Designing an RFID-based smart inventory system
- Implementing automated item tracking
- Developing user authentication and access control with sensors and load cells
- Creating a centralized database and web interface for managing item availability and access logs
Certifications: Expanding My Horizons
In addition to my engineering expertise, I am certified in SAP Material Management S/4 HANA*. I also hold certifications from the *BFSI Consortium, which have broadened my knowledge in Banking, Finance, Financial Services, Investment Management Products, and Insurance.
Technical Skills: Bridging Finance and Technology
With a unique blend of BFSI domain knowledge and technical skills, I have a strong foundation in cloud computing, cybersecurity, and data analytics. This combination allows me to integrate financial domain expertise with cutting-edge technology solutions.
Thank you for joining me on this journey. I am excited to continue growing and contributing to the field of industrial engineering and beyond. Your time and consideration are greatly appreciated!
